Whilst many of us search for a healthy glow on our skin, the last thing that we want to look is shiny and oily. The trouble with oily skin is that it isn’t something that you can really ever get rid of, you just need to reduce its impact.

There are a variety of skin care products out that there claim to reduce the amount of oil that you can see on your skin. Which is great, but what if you would rather take a natural approach to your skin?

To help you out, we have put together some of the very best home-made face masks that you can create yourself to treat your oily skin.

Egg, Oat and Honey

It might not sound the most tempting thing in the world to rub egg on your face, but there are so many benefits to popping a touch of egg whites on. This particular face mask not only contains 1 egg whites, 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 tbsp of ground oats and once you have mixed all the ingredients together to form a paste, you need to apply this to your face and leave for 10 minutes before washing off.

The great thing about this face mask is that the egg white will tighten your pores, the oats will soak up the oil and dirt from the surface of your skin, as well as exfoliate the skin. Honey is soothing on inflamed skin and also is packed full of antibacterial properties too, which will help to give your skin a clean up too.

Clay, Charcoal, Green Tea and Lemon

Clay is a definite must have when it comes to your skin. This is because it contains zeolite, which removes toxins and dirt from your pores, helping to reduce how oily your skin is. Clay is so powerful that you can actually see the oil coming out of your skin as you leave your mask to dry. To really improve the power of clay, this particular mask also has charcoal powder, which will remove pollutants from your skin. It also contains green tea which contains a number of antioxidants and lemon which will treat pimples and shrink pores too.

To make this particular face mask you need 2 tbsp of bentonite clay, 1 tbsp of activate charcoal powder, 1tsp of green tea and 1tsp of lemon juice. You should combine everything with a wooden spoon (never a metal spoon) before smearing on your face with your fingers. After 15 minutes your mask will be ready to be removed with lots of warm water.

It doesn’t matter which mask you make and use, we can promise you that in no time at all your skin will feel amazing and you will definitely feel the benefit of making the effort to make a face mask and allow it to work.

xoxo
