If there is one thing that many people want it is younger looking skin, however, it is not always something that comes easily. There are plenty of expensive creams, lotions and serums out there that claim to have amazing results on older skin and of course there are those that can deliver.

But what if we told you that there are cheaper (not to mention more natural) ways to try and achieve younger looking skin?

Home-made facial masks can be just as effective as those that you can buy in the shops and they are much cheaper to make than it would be to buy a mask in the shops. One issue with this is that you might not know exactly where to start.

To help you and inspire you to try this out for yourself, we have put together our guide on how to make a home-made facial mask that you can use to achieve younger looking skin. The face masks on our list are not only easy to make, but they are also going to be cost-effective and all natural too, as well as giving you results that you could only hope for with a shop bought option.

Cranberry based face mask

Aside from being good for those who have issues with their urinary tract, cranberries are also good for the skin too. Cranberries are ideal for naturally exfoliating skin that is lacking in glow and radiance. They are gentle, but they are still effective and they are easy to find too.

In order to make a cranberry face mask you need to mix 1 cup of fresh cranberries, 1 cup of seedless green grapes, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 envelop of unflavoured gelatin. You need to mix this all together until it has an almost paste like texture (a blender is best for this) and then you should pop in the fridge for 45 minutes to thicken. This face mask should be applied to clean and dry skin, avoiding the eyes and leave it on for 15 minutes.

Honey based face mask

Honey is much more powerful than you may realise, especially when it comes to your skin. Used in a face mask, honey will ensure that your broken or chapped skin is healed, it will help your skin to feel firmer and smoother and it will also keep all that extra special moisture in too.

When it comes to a honey based mask, you actually just need honey as it comes. You will need to warm it up (perhaps over a saucepan of hot water) so that it is easier to apply. It is best to apply to a small path on your elbow first to check the temperature, before slathering it all over your face. You will need to leave this mask on for 15 minutes before making sure that you rinse off all the honey.

Green tea based face mask

Green tea is becoming big news in the world of health and beauty, and for good reason. Green tea is packed full of anti-inflammatory compounds, which are known to be able to help your skin to appear less puffy. Not only this, but green tea also has plenty of antioxidants too, which will help to battle the premature signs of ageing.

All you need to do is make sure that you chill damp green tea bags in the fridge, before placing them on your eyes (or anywhere you think needs a helping hand) for around the 10-15 minute mark.

These are just some of the ideas that you can use to make a home-made face mask that is going to help to make sure that your skin looks its best.

Why not try them out for yourself and see if you have skin that you can be proud of?
